The best Halloween shows to see in London this year

Wicked 

One of the West End’s most renowned productions, the classic smash-hit musical Wicked tells a thrilling story of hopelessness and betrayal. Wicked shows Elphaba’s fall from grace, and Glinda’s rise to power. Beginning at Shiz University, an eccentric bond is formed between the green-skinned misfit and the conventionally beautiful rich girl. Faced with discrimination, political corruption and societal expectations, the protagonists teach the audience the ultimate lesson - there is always more than meets the eye. The production is as hilariously witty as it is nail-biting and currently stars Lucie Jones as Elphaba and Helen Woolf as Glinda. The Woman in Black 

Based on Susan Hill’s 1983 sombre yet captivating novel of the same name, The Woman in Black at Fortune Theatre is ready to transport you to a ghoulish world of mystery this Halloween. Celebrating 30 nightmarish years in the West End, The Woman in Black follows the harrowing journey of young, naive solicitor Arthur Kipps. The play begins at the funeral of one of Arthur’s clients and sees him later uncovering a sinister secret involving the terrifying Woman in Black. 

A tale of eerie marshes and weeping winds, the show is cursed by profound fear, pitch-black memories and the threat of the unknown. The Woman in Black currently stars Terrence Wilton (Treatment, Never So Good, Antony and Cleopatra) who returns as Arthur Kipps and Max Hitchinson (The Hound of Baskervilles, The Notorious Mrs Ebbsmith, The 39 Steps) who plays The Actor. Heathers The Musical 

Heathers The Musical continues to shock and delight with its black comedy genius. Tackling everything from bullying to murderous desire. The bright yet gloomy production tells the story of misfit dreamer Veronica Sawyer who is caught in her world of always wanting more. That is until she joins the mystical and equally cruel Heathers, where she gets more than she bargained for. After getting involved with teen rebel JD, she learns that whilst it may kill to be a nobody, it may also murder to be a somebody. The Other Palace cast of Heathers the Musical stars Ailsa Davidson as Veronica Sawyer, Simon Gordon as JD, Maddison Frith as Heather Chandler and Inez Budd as Heather Duke.

Phantom of The Opera 

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of The Opera has left behind an unbeatable legacy. It is one of the most successful and longest-running musicals of all time, with 140 million tickets sold worldwide, and has won over 70 major theatre awards. 

Repulsed by his appearance, the musical genius Phantom lurks within the shadows of the Paris Opera House and is feared by all. He has one goal in mind, to take control of the Opera house and its players, that is until he falls head-over-feels for orphaned chorus girl Christine, and teaches her to sing the music of the night. Wonderville 

This Halloween some of the world's most exquisite illusionists band together live on stage at the stunning Wonderville Club. This exhilarating take on the classic art form is sure to take your breath away, with five unbelievable acts seamlessly integrated into one mind-bending show!

Wonderville is known for its Wonderwille Magic and Illusion show at The Palace Theatre. Now, with magic and cabaret performances it showcases the wonders of illusion through magic and cabaret. The show is led by a masterful cast of magical performers, last year's acts included Broadway, West End and BBC TV star Chris Cox, the multi-award-winning Mind Reader, and Josephine Lee the star of Britain’s Got Talent and the most talked-about woman in magic. The acts for the 2022 run of Wonderville and the Wonderville Club are yet to be announced, but they are sure to mesmerise with their out-of-the-ordinary abilities. 

Death Drop: Back in The Habit 

Death Drop: Back in The Habit combines blood, beauty bad-girl realness in this all-drag cast extravaganza. Starring RuPaul's Drag Race royalty Willam and Cheryl Hole, the queens sashay onto the stage oozing charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent. Taking to the nunnery, the show sees a serial slasher hunting down the queens one by one in a hilarious game of whodunnit! Though fear not, for the snatched Sis Marple is on the case to give us all of the juicy clues.
