Michael Vinsen

Michael Vinsen is a professional actor from London. He made his West End debut as part of the original London cast of Hairspray at the Shaftesbury Theatre in October 2007. Two years later, he joined the hit production of Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre.

Shortly afterwards, he left the West End and went on his first touring show of the award-winning Legally Blonde. Upon returning home, he found his first full-time principal role in Bare the Musical. He starred in the lead role of Peter against Ross William Wild as Jason. The show received critical acclamation. Michael has also performed at multiple seasonal charity cabarets.

 

Training:

He received his training from Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom, Surrey, and graduated in 2006.

Theatre:

He has worked in various theatre projects. His credits include Ensemble in We Will Rock You at the Theatre 11, Zurich; Brad/Cover Link Larkin/Corny Collins in Hairspray at the Shaftesbury Theatre (original London company); title role of Dick in Dick Whittington at the Theatre Royal Wakefield, Eugene/ Cover Doody/Vince Fontaine/Teen Angel in Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre, Aaron/Cover Emmett in Legally Blonde for the Ambassador Theatre Group in the No.1 UK Tour; Peter in Bare the Musical at the Union Theatre and Greenwich Theatre; Richard Bailey/Cover Charlie Price in Kinky Boots for Playful Productions, Ensemble/Cover Young Ben in Follies at the National Theatre, Prince Philip in Sleeping Beauty for UK Productions; understudied Elder Price in The Book of Mormon at the Prince of Wales Theatre and Ensemble in Follies at the National Theatre.

Film:

He is a dancer in Sir Kenneth Branagh’s Artemis Fowl.

TV:

His television credits include ITV’s The Paul O’Grady Show, ITV’s This Morning, Sky 1’s Hairspray the School Musical, ITV’s Royal Variety Performance, and as Laurence in Abigail’s Party.
