Joshua Da Costa

Joshua Da Costa is a professional theatre actor based in London, UK. He is a talented dancer and has an excellent bass-baritone voice. Joshua has worked on stage, television and also various short films.

 

Training:

He trained at the Guildford School of Acting (2011 – 2014).

Theatre:

Among his credits is Roy Wright in Susan Stroman & Nigel West’s The Scottsboro Boys at the Garrick Theatre, 2014; cover Hortensio and Gregory in Jo Davies’ Kiss Me, Kate at the Opera North, 2015; Willy in Daniel Evans’ Show Boat at the New London Theatre, 2016; the title role in John Savournin’ Pinocchio at the King’s Head Theatre; cover Mafala Hatimbi and ensemble in Casey Nicholaw’s The Book of Mormon (Sonia Friedman Productions) at Prince of Wales Theatre, 2017; Smudge in Guy Retallack’s Plaid Tidings at the Bridge House Theatre (2018); swing in Phyllia Lloyd’s Tina: The Tina Turner Musical at the Aldwych Theatre (2019).

His other stage credits include Feste in Michael Crompton’s Twelfth Night at the Guildford School of Acting, 2013; the title role in John Savournin’s Pinocchio at the Charles Court Opera, 2016; Yussuf in James Meteyard’s Testing the Echo (Moving Stories, 2018).

TV:

On television, Joshua appeared as a gospel choir in Mark Swanhart’s The X Factor (Syco Entertainment). He acted in Ian Denyer’s Having a Ball (Pride and Prejudice) for BBC.

Short Film:

His credits in short films include Daniel in Danny Ormerod’s Terminate (2014) and Mark in Feeling Good (2014); Billy in Mathew J Rowney’s The Bank Jobs (MJR Films, 2015) and Aqualad in Superboy (2018).

Workshop:

Joshua was in the workshop for Jo Davies’ Kiss Me, Kate at the Opera North in 2015.
