Don’t miss the Tony and Olivier Award-winning comedy Oh, Mary!, which continues to attract leading stage and screen talent to the role of Mary Todd Lincoln:

  • Creator and original Broadway star, Cole Escola returns to the role for a four-week run from 20 July to 15 August 2026.
  • Two-time RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon takes over the role from 17 August 2026 until 26 September 2026.
  • Award-winning comedian and actor Lolly Adefope will play the role of Mary from 28 September to 5 December 2026

The award-winning comedy has become one of the West End’s hottest tickets following its critically-acclaimed London premiere in December 2025. Playing at Trafalgar Theatre, Oh, Mary! has extended three times due to huge demand, with tickets now on sale until January 2027. Casting for performances for autumn will be announced soon.

Oh, Mary! is an uproariously dark comedy about a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Unrequited yearning, alcoholism, and suppressed desires abound in this 80-minute one-act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln, through the lens of an idiot (playwright Cole Escola).

Lolly Adefope to join the West End cast of Oh, Mary! as Mary Todd Lincoln

Award-winning comedian and actor Lolly Adefope will join the West End cast of the smash-hit comedy Oh, Mary! as Mary Todd Lincoln from 28 September to 5 December 2026. Best known for her role as Kitty in the hit BBC comedy Ghosts, Lolly has also starred in the US comedy series Shrill, This Time with Alan Partridge and Miracle Workers, as well as appearing on Taskmaster. Alongside her screen work, she has built a celebrated live comedy career, with acclaimed solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, regular appearances at leading UK comedy venues and a reputation for creating a host of distinctive, brilliantly observed characters.

It’s an Oh, Mary! Summer - Full West End Casting Announced

It’s an Oh, Mary! summer and the colour of the season is Mary Todd yellow. See what new cast are Lincoln up at Trafalgar Theatre this summer, from 20 July to 26 September 2026.  It’s now no secret that Cole Escola is reprising their their Tony Award-winning performance as Mary Todd Lincoln. Not only did Escola win a Tony for the performance of Mary, but also wrote the Olivier award-winning smash hit comedy itself. Cole’s performance will also be filmed on 28th July.  The cast for the filmed performances will also include Giles Terera, returning as Mary’s Husband (in the role that earned him an Oliver Award nomination earlier this year); Emmy Award nominee Michael Urie (Mary’s Teacher), and original Oh, Mary! cast members Bianca Leigh (Mary’s Chaperone) and Tony Macht (Mary’s Husband’s Assistant).  Joining further Oh, Mary! performances will be Scott Karim (Mary’s Husband) from 17 August to 26 September, Dino Fetscher (Mary’s Teacher) from 3 August to 26 September, Kate O’Donnell (Mary’s Chaperone) from 3 August to 26 September and Oliver Stockley (Mary’s Husband’s Assistant) from 3 August to 26 September.
