Olly Dobson

Olly Dobson is a professional actor and singer based in London, England. He is currently playing the lead role of Marty McFly in the world premiere of Back To The Future: The Musical. An adept singer, Olly is a brilliant Tenor and Rock singer. 

 

Training:

He trained at The Arts Educational Schools, London, graduating in 2014. 

Theatre:

In the theatre scene, Olly has recently worked in a few musicals, portraying the role of Hail in Bill Buckhurst’s The Selfish Giant at the Vaudeville Theatre; Freddy in Gary Lloyd’s Carrie at the Southwark Playhouse; ensemble/first cover Jagwire/ first cover Ledoux in Jay Scheib’s Bat Out Of Hell at The London Coliseum and international tour; Beauty & The Beast at the Camberley Theatre; Michael Wormwood/first cover Doctor in Matthew Warchus’ Matilda at the Cambridge Theatre. 

While training at the ArtsEd, he played the role of Che in Evita, Jacey Squires in The Music Man, Bobby in Company, FBI Agent in Catch Me If You Can, and Strephon in Iolanthe. 

Workshops:

 He has also been part of the workshops for George Perrin’s On The Team at Above The Fray, ensemble in Julian Woolford’s Comrade Rockstar, Eric in Fred Perry’s Bananaman, ensemble in Sean Holmes’ Busy Malone at the Lyric Hammersmith, Luke in Jonathan Church’s Strictly Ballroom: The Musical, Marty McFly in John Rando’s Back To The Future, and Arnaud in Matthew Warchus’ Martin Guerre at The Old Vic.

Apart from being a theatre actor, Olly has also been involved in various other shows. Some of them are Kerry Ellis in Concert at the London Palladium, Rags: The Musical in Concert at the West End’s Lyric Theatre, The 2013 & 2014 Laurence Olivier Awards at the Royal Opera House, The One Show on BBC TV.
