We'll tell you as soon as tickets go on sale:

Famed Greek theatre director Dimitris Papaioannou is the first choreographer to create a new piece for the late Pina Bausch’s Tanztheater Wuppertal. This dance extravaganza opens at Sadler's Wells for a limited run on Valentine's Day 2019.

The unmistakable style of Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch was forged over decades performing Pina Bausch’s huge catalogue of extraordinary work. Following the choreographer’s death in 2009, the company are now ready to embark on the expansion of this hallowed repertoire.

In an exchange of firsts, New Piece I marks the creation of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch’s first full-length creative work by a guest choreographer, while also being the first work that Greek choreographer Dimitris Papaioannou has created outside of his own company.

Trained as a visual artist, the author of over 40 comic books, and the creative director of the 2004 Olympic Opening Ceremony in Athens, Papaionannou’s work is renowned for its dream-like atmosphere, inhabited by a circus of contorted and absurd creatures.

The talented cast of dancers include Azusa Seyama, Blanca Noguerol Ramírez, Breanna O’Mara, Ditta Miranda Jasjfi, Ekaterina Shushakova, Franko Schmidt, Julian Stierle, Julie Anne Stanzak, Michael Carter, Michael Strecker, Milan Kampfer, Oleg Stepanov, Ophelia Young, Ruth Amarante, Scott Jennings, Silvia Farias Heredia, and Tsai-Wei Tien.

Show your significant other that you care and treat them to this fantastical dance performance for Valentine's Day. Book now to guarantee the best seats in the house!
