Broadway’s Jagged Little Pill West End transfer?
Alanis Morissette’s musical had its final performance on Broadway on 17 December 2021. Could a West End premiere be next for this electrifying musical? The jukebox musical premiered at the Cambridge Massachusetts American Repertory Theatre before transferring to Broadhurst Theatre for its Broadway debut. A production opened in Australia in December 2021, so here’s hoping a London production will follow.

About Jagged Little Pill musical
The musical features the songs from the Grammy-winning album of the same name, Jagged Little Pill, and three new songs Morissette wrote specifically for the musical. Songs you can hear are ‘Ironic’, ‘Thank U’, ‘All I Really Want’ and ‘You Oughta Know’.
The Broadway production earned 15 Tony Award nominations and won Best Book of a Musical and Best Performance by a Featured Actress (Lauren Patten). It also won two Drama Desk Awards as well as a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
What is Jagged Little Pill about?
Jagged Little Pill tells the story of the Healys. Mary Jane, Steve, and their teenage son and daughter Nick and Frankie might appear to be a picture-perfect suburban family, but when their lives are disrupted by a series of disturbing events, they are confronted with harsh truths about themselves, their community, and the world around them.

Jagged Little Pill has a book by the Academy Award-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody (Juno), music by Alanis Morissette and six-time Grammy Award-winning Glen Ballard (Back to the Future The Musical), with arrangements and orchestrations by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner Tom Kitt (American Idiot, Next to Normal). The musical is directed by Tony Award-winner Diane Paulus (Pippin, Waitress, Finding Neverland), with choreography by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, set design by Riccardo Hernandez, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Justin Townsend, sound design by Jonathan Deans, and video design by Finn Ross.
