“Sugary, Sweet, Honest.” --The Reviews Hub

“A series of terrific original songs by composer David Kirshenbaum.” --Londontheatre.co.uk

“Great gusto and terrific vocals by the sensational trio of Lauren Samuels, Lizzy Connolly and Ashleigh Gray.” --The Stage

It is 1963, and although the President has just been shot and America finds itself on the brink of a war, girls seem to only have one aim - to stay popular and beautiful, as everything else will sort itself out... right?

Starting off as carefree cheerleaders, the story follows three good friends, Joanne, the sweet and naive country girl, confident Mary and Kathy, the planner, who dream about their future and wedding attires, and choose their university sororities. It is not brains and ambition that are crucial for girls at the time, but rather their looks and image. Lauren Samuels (Bend it Like Beckham, BBC’s Over the Rainbow, Grease), Ashleigh Gray (Wicked, Cool Rider) and Lizzy Connolly (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Xanadu) will be the main stars in this all-new London premiere.

Follow this extremely funny and heartfelt story about three best friends from a small town in Dallas through the 60s and 70s. With a rich original music score by David Kirshenbaum, it mixes girl group harmonies of the with contemporary music. Directed and choreographed by Racky Plews (Footloose, American Idiot), and based on a book by Jack Heifner, Vanities makes its London debut exactly 10 years since the musical was first performen on Broadway and on the 40th anniversary of the play.
