5 Performances to watch at West End Live 2019!

Posted on 21 June 2019

West End Live is hitting Trafalgar Square for another year on this weekend the 22-23 June 2019 and I will of course be in attendance!  It is a great way to get a taster for shows that are already running in the West End, making their debut or have been seated for a long time (Les Miserables anyone!) Take a look at the West End Live 2019 schedule to make sure you know what time everything is happening.

Here is a list of my top ones to watch:

  • Only Fools & Horses
Del-Boy, Rodders, Trigg, Uncle Albert & Grandad! What's not to love? Get yourself down to Hooky Street to see the latest in the Trotter Family!

  • Matilda
One that will delight grown-ups and children alike.  Matilda is a show that is family friendly and has an abundance of happy endorphins running through it.  It is a light-hearted fun show that has lots of songs - my favourite being 'When I Grow Up'.

  • Tina: the Tina Turner Musical
Left a good job down in the city….Tina is the ultimate story of the comeback queen.  It is put together in a somewhat holistic state, the importance of mediation being noted and hosting a whole load of toe tapping songs it is one that will have you on your feet.

  • Phantom of the Opera
Oh my, without any degree of hyperbole, I adore Phantom of the Opera.  The love story that portrays the very real pain of unrequited love, set to a beautiful score.  Brava!

  • 9 to 5: The Musical
Definitely worth tumbling outta bed and stumbling to the kitchen for. I love me a bit of Dolly and in 9-5 our three girls are living their best life!

West End Live promises to be a fun-filled weekend for the whole family and a great way to help you make your list of must-see West End shows. Free entry and performances from London's best and brightest mean that crowds will be out in force. The show begins at 11am and runs straight through til 5pm so be sure to get there early and be ready for a long day of singing, dancing and enjoying live theatre.
