What is The Man in the White Suit about?

This new comedy is based on the 1950s classic Ealing comedy of the same name which starred Joan Greenwood and Alec Guinness. In The Man in the White Suit, research chemist Sidney Stratton (Stephen Mangan) invents a fabric. But this isn’t just any fabric; this is a fabric that never gets dirty, never wears and never fades. This seemingly indestructible cloth creates the most unlikely of bedfellows. Manufacturers and trades unions come together in a bid to protect their industry and their jobs.
