Lucia di Lammermoor tickets are now available. Donizetti opera is sure to leave you breathless.
Tricked into a loveless marriage by her domineering brother, Lucia retreats into silence. Is madness her only escape?
With themes of rival families, thwarted love, unhealthy obsessions, and a doomed political marriage, Lucia di Lammermoor is Donizetti‘s most compelling romantic drama.
Based on Walter Scott’s novel The Bride of Lammermoor, the story traces how Lucia, an innocent woman, is manipulated by the men in her life until, no longer willing to submit to their control, she descends into insanity. An example of the bel canto school of 19th-century Italian opera, Donizetti’s score is full of beautiful melodies as well as psychological insights.
Olivier Award-winning David Alden directs this masterpiece on its return to ENO after eight years. Conductor Stuart Stratford, Music Director of Scottish Opera, makes a welcome return to the London Coliseum. Following her outstanding success as Rosina in our recent revival of The Barber of Seville, Sarah Tynan returns for her role debut as Lucia.
ENO’s Lucia di Lammermoor tickets are now available. Don’t miss this incredible production or the rest of the ENO season.

Very good. I traveled from Seden to see the opera. It was very good. The soprano was worldclas.
I took my hubby as a surprise, neither of us had visited the opera before .. we certainly chose a great one ! Especially the second act, mind blowing .. we both enjoyed it so much and had an amazing time, the venue was amazing too, the cast were amazing the songs, beautiful
Too long. Too repetitive. Too boring. I thought it would never end. I wanted to leave at interval ( when I thought the opera had come to a long awaited & thank end. But NO ! There was still another 50 mins of torture Performers were good. LONDON, NEVER PERFORM LUCIA EVER AGAIN !
We enjoyed the opera, the music and singing were excellent.
Not sure why the characters were made to look like Mormons but everything else is was great
It was completely brilliant. Terrific staging, unbelievable performances, simply a wonderful night out.
Wonderful singing: daft plot!
Great performance! Thanks
As far as an approachable Opera goes, this was a superb experience. Not for kids, as things move rather slow for the YouTubers; however, for an experienced visitors who enjoy history, museum and art, I felt this show represented changing time and place that is London of today. With intriguing, unsuspecting, amazing racial diversity mix of international opera singers, this show is not easily replicable in any English-language setting. There would be a version of this in NYC, LA, or SF - but then, those venues will create a different story setting that would be different from this show. Audience may be older, but for an opera novice like me, this was a perfect way in to understand opera.
A wonderful production. A "tour de force" performance from Sarah Tynan whose voice was magnificent ably supported by an impressive cast. I thought that the chorus excelled and that the staging was superb. The orchestra also deserve a special mention..I would thoroughly recommend this production as my partner and I loved it. John Keane
