Tickets for Chasing Bono in London’s Soho Theatre are expected to sell out quickly so grab them while you can!

This new comedy based on Neil McCormick’s ‘I Was Bono’s Doppelganger’ is written by comedy duo Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais the brains behind such television smash hits as Porridge and The Likely Lads.

It’s Dublin in the 1970s, Neil McCormick and Paul Hewson are friends with the same dream- to start bands and become megastars. Paul became Bono and his band U2, well, you know. Neil’s band never quite got off the ground. Fast forward to 1987- Neil’s become a writer but he’s not happy about it. He’s thinking of ending it all. Meanwhile, Danny Machin, a Dublin gangster, is determined to see a fair account of his life written up. He kidnaps Neil who becomes Danny’s reluctant biographer. He didn’t quite expect to become Neil’s therapist though.

Chasing Bono tickets are now available for the limited run at London’s Soho Theatre.

Funniest night out I e had in years.

Philip Smith

A fantastic story, well-written, humorous, about the real-life gap between ambition and reality. Some of the acting let down the script on one or two occasions, i.e. forgotten lines?
