What is Nicôle Lecky’s Superhoe about?

Sasha Clayton is a 24-year-old loafer and big dreamer who still lives with her mum, step-dad and annoying younger sister in the London Borough of Newham in Plaistow. Once the most popular girl in school, Sasha now spends the majority of her time at home on social media. Determined to not work a minimum wage job at Wetherspoons, Sasha is a singer slash rapper who is ready for her big break.

While she may be unemployed and without her own place to live, she might just have what it takes to be the next Cardi B – as soon as she drops her hot debut EP, everyone will be begging to get a piece of her!

“I look at my page and think ‘Fuck me do I want her life!’ then I remember I do have my life – only it feels a bit different.”

What does Superhoe mean?

It may not be very self-explanatory, but you can use your imagination to read between the lines. We can only assume it means taking charge of your own life and not taking ‘no’ for an answer when it comes to following your dreams! Nicôle Lecky brings a play to the table that many millennials can relate to.

Superhoe marks Nicôle Lecky’s West End debut

Up-and-coming playwright and actress Nicôle Lecky makes her writing and performing debut in the first-ever co-production between Talawa Theatre Company and the Royal Court Theatre. It is directed by Jade Lewis, who is best known for having worked on 2017’s a profoundly affectionate, passionate devotion to someone (-noun) by Debbie Tucker Green. Superhoe was previously presented last summer as part of Talawa Firsts in June 2018 and is ready to take the West End stage by storm!

Attend The Big Idea: Post-show Talk on Tuesday, 12 February with writer/performer Nicôle Lecky. Admission to the special post-Superhoe talk is free with a valid ticket to that evening's performance.
