World-class actors in a play by a world-class writer for a strictly limited run. Secure your tickets to The Height of the Storm now.
André and Madeleine are in love and married, they have been for more than 50 years. As their daughters visit for the weekend things seem out of sorts. Flowers arrive, but where did they come from? A woman visits, but who is she and why is she there? André feels untethered, invisible and we are left to wonder what is happening.
Florian Zeller, stunning French author and playwright and winner of numerous prestigious international awards including an Olivier Award for The Truth, recently had three of his works playing in the West End simultaneously. The Height of the Storm is his first return to the West End since. This major new work is a poignant study of the family, life, love and memory. It brings together two of the greatest actors of a generation, Jonathan Pryce and Dame Eileen Atkins, to tread the boards together for the first time.
The Height of the Storm stars Jonathan Pryce as Andre and Dame Eileen Atkins as Madeline. Pryce is an internationally acclaimed and award winning actor of screen (Glengarry Glen Ross, Carrington, Evita) and stage (The Merchant of Venice, Comedians, Miss Saigon). He most recently appeared in the astoundingly successful Game of Thrones as the High Sparrow. Atkins is a 3 time Olivier Award winning actress, with BAFTA and Emmy awards alongside other numerous prestigious nominations. She is known for her numerous screen (Gosford Park, The Hours, Robin Hood) and stage (Honour, Retreat from Moscow, Ellen Terry) triumphs. She most recently appeared as Queen Mary in the Netflix drama The Crown.
Pryce and Atkins are joined by Amanda Drew as Anne, Anna Madeley as Elise and James Hillier and Lucy Cohu as The Man and The Woman, respectively.
The Height of the Storm tickets for this strictly limited 8 week run are in extremely high demand. Book now to avoid disappointment.

Disturbing but wonderful play. Jonathan Price hit it.
Excellent production fantastic cast
Considering the title I was expecting passion and intrigue. What I got was an unclear storyline, with no real highs or lows, it did not move me and I left thinking what was the point. Best suited as a radio 4 play, does not deserve West end stage time. Middle class drivel, avoid. Even with the well known actors.
Although it took a while to realise that it was mother who had died, the play followed a logical pattern. Partners being separated after some 50 years of marriage, with the family being there trying to organise the remaining parent without open discussion. The setting was so realistic and we could even see when someone went out into the garden. The play kept the entire audience engaged throughout, and the lighting allowed us to realise who was centre stage at that time in the play - very clever as everyone remained in view until the very end, when Eileen Atkins seemed to gradually disappear The acting, especially Eileen Atkins and Jonathan Pryor, was superb and the seats in Row R gave us a complete view of the stage over the head of others in the stalls. We throughly enjoyed the play and were really pleased we had seen it.
An excellent play well crafted dealing with demetia
Very strange story, it was good that it made you try and workout who was dead, but not that gripping.
Fantastic - superlative performances
It was excellent. And congratulations to Eileen Atkins she did wonderfully well.. Christopher Van der Noot
Great play, great production
Very well acted, really enjoyed the play.
Great great performances. A tough subject cleverly dealt with. Humour and despair!

The Height of the Storm
At first, I was confused about what was happening, particularly by the way in which the characters spoke of their parents or spouses in the past tense along with the references to the “situation “ and the “condition” which Andre had.
