Matthew Rowland
Matthew Rowland, hailing from Greater London, is a renowned actor, director, singer and choreographer. After his graduation, he portrayed the character of George in Taboo at the Brixton Club House. For his brilliant performance, Rowland received a nomination for the Best Leading Actor in a Musical in the Broadway World UK Award.
Training:
Rowland went to the Arts Educational Schools, graduating in the summer of 2012 with a 1st Class BA Honours Degree in Musical Theatre.

Among his stage credits is Paul Spicer’s Christmas in New York at Notes from New York (2009); Ian Good’s Bat Boy at the Arts Educational School (2011); Russell Labey’s The Producers at the Arts Educational School (2012); Christopher Renshaw’s Taboo at the Brixton Club as George (2012); Paul Foster’s Darling of the Day at the Union Theatre as Alf (2013); Matthew Warchus’ Matilda at the Cambridge Theatre as Doctor, u/s Rudolpho, u/s Mr Wormwood (2017); Trevor Nunn’s Cats in the International Tour as Skimbleshankd, u/s Guss, u/s Rum Tum Tugger, u/s Bustopher Jones (2018); Laurence Conner’s Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat at the London Palladium as u/s Simeon (2019), and Diane Paulus’ Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre as u/s Promatter and Ogie.
Direction:
Apart from being a wonderful actor, Matthew has also directed several shows including Dee-Licious, Lightful and Lovely in 2015 and The Robbing Glass in 2016.
Choreography:
As a choreographer, he has worked in Putting It Together (St James Theatre & G Live).
