Simbi Akande

Simbi Akande is a singer and actress based out of London. 

 

Training:

She trained at the Mountview Academy of Academy Arts. Simbi graduated with a 1st Class BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre.

Theatre:

Simbi’s theatre credits include playing Marta in Company (Aberdeen Arts Centre), Almeta/Lula Buffington in Violet (Charing Cross Theatre), Woman 2 in Putting it Together (Hope Mill Theatre), Clara Brown in Ghost (UK Tour), Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof (Chichester Festival Theatre) and Swing in Show Boat (New London Theatre). She is also known for her performance in The Light in the Piazza (Royal Festival Hall and LA Opera), and in 2020, she appeared in The Prince of Egypt (Dominion) in the West End.

Workshops:

Simbi has been a part of several workshops and got involved in playing the role of Nadia in F**KED in Marrakech, Wurca 1 in Qu4rter and Mamie Till in Rosa.
