Jason Pennycooke one night this autumn at The Other Palace

Multiple Oliver-Award nominated actor and choreographer Jason Pennycooke is one of the most acclaimed stars of London’s West End. He originated the roles of Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in the West End production of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s global sensation Hamilton. The role, which he is still playing, earned him the WhatsOnStage Award for Best Supporting Actor and an Oliver Award nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical.

Pennycooke portrayed Jacob in the production of La Cage Aux Folles at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory and in the subsequent transfer to the West End’s Playhouse Theatre. He also played the role of Bobby in the West End run of Memphis at the Shaftesbury Theatre. Both roles would earn him Olivier Award nominations. 

Jason has also found great success as a choreographer. He choreographed Soul Sister which would transfer to the West End’s Savoy Theatre. He also choreographed and starred in The Big Life earning a WhatsOnStage Award nomination for Best Choreographer. He also choreographed the Olivier Award-nominated production of Porgy and Bess also at the Savoy Theatre.
