Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to Become a One-Part Show in the West End
Published on 28 January 2026
After ten magical years as a two-part epic, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be reimagined as a single-part production in London this autumn.
Producers Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender, and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions have confirmed the new format, which mirrors the version now staged internationally, including on Broadway.
The one-part show will run for two hours and 55 minutes, including a single interval, offering a more streamlined experience while keeping all the spellbinding moments fans love

The reimagined production will reopen at the Palace Theatre on 6 October 2026, following the final performances of the current two-part edition on 20 September 2026.
For a decade, audiences have enjoyed Harry Potter and the Cursed Child across two parts. Currently Part 1 runs for two hours and 40 minutes with a 20-minute interval, and Part 2 runs for two hours and 35 minutes with a 20-minute interval. The move to a single show aligns the West End production with international stages and celebrates a milestone in the play’s celebrated history.
