What’s closing in London Theatre this month? (October 2019)

Updated on 3 October 2019

Autumn is the season when the trees shed their leaves ahead of the colder winter days to come. It symbolises endings and is a time to reap what we sow. Just like the new season which represents change, London theatre will also see change this month as various shows close their doors. However, just like with autumn and its reminder to treasure what we have before it ends, we too can enjoy these shows before they end. Read below to see what’s closing in London Theatre and find how much time you have left to see these wonderful productions.

What shows will have their final curtain call this month in London theatre?

A Doll’s House (closes 5 October)
Adapted by Olivier Award-nominee Tanika Gupta (The Waiting Room) is the incredible reimagining of Ibsen’s classic. Tickets for A Doll’s House at London’s Lyric Hammersmith have been in high demand for its limited 1-month run that must come to an end! Set at a time of British Colonialism, there are strong themes of race, gender and ownership, all portrayed through a female perspective. Niru is a young Bengali woman whose race is a marvel for her husband, English colonial officer, Tom. Whilst the pair are in love, it’s evident that Niru is just a treasure destined for Tom’s metaphoric mantelpiece and that is all. However, Niru has a secret that she thought was safely left behind in her past. Will it catch up with her and knock her down from her pedestal?

Anna Bella Eema tickets are a must-have for those who are yet to experience the show by the rising star that is D’Amour. This show is the perfect thing for the month of Halloween, as it’s part ghost story and part gothic fairy tale, in which young Annabella learns to coexist with werewolves, vampires and other monsters.
