Grace Mouat is an English musical theatre actress and podcaster known for her vibrant performances, sharp comic timing, and versatility across stage and screen. From her early days in ensemble roles to leading parts in major West End productions, Mouat has built a reputation for her energy and ability to bring warmth and wit to every role she takes on. Who is Grace Mouat?

Born on 12 May 1996 in Camberley, Surrey, Grace Mouat is of half-Burmese heritage. She trained at the Guildford School of Acting, graduating in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre. While still in her final year of drama school, she was cast in the musical Six as Dance Captain and Swing, understudying all six principal roles. When the show transferred to the West End, Mouat covered each of the six roles she had learned on tour, demonstrating her adaptability and skill.

Her career quickly expanded beyond Six. From 2019 to 2022, she was Judith and first cover for Juliet in the Jukebox musical & Juliet, appearing both in Manchester and at London’s Shaftesbury Theatre. Her work as a cover earned her a Mousetrap Award nomination in 2020 in the “Save the Day” category. Mouat has also performed in a concert version of Hair, directed by Arlene Phillips, at the Turbine Theatre and later at the London Palladium in 2021.

Stage highlights and achievements

In 2022, Mouat played Pilar in Lucy Moss’s revival of Legally Blonde at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. She then took the title role in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella at the Hope Mill Theatre, and in 2023 played Izzy in the West End transfer of The Great British Bake Off Musical at the Noel Coward Theatre. Other notable roles include Betty in White Christmas and Lucy Wyman in the workshop of 13 Going on 30.

On 27 March 2024, she joined the West End cast of Mean Girls, originating the role of Karen Smith, which earned her widespread recognition.

What’s next for Grace Mouat?

Alongside her theatre work, Mouat is part of the all-female group SVN, formed with fellow original cast members from Six. She also launched her podcast Cut to the Grace in July 2023, where she chats with West End stars, music artists, vloggers, and TV personalities. With a growing body of stage credits and a platform to share her voice offstage, Mouat continues to captivate audiences with her charisma, talent, and dedication to musical theatre.
