Love-Lies-Bleeding tickets are sure to be in high demand for the UK premiere at the Print Room at the Coronet of visionary Don DeLillo’s poignant show starring Josie Lawrence and Joe McGann.
When Alex Macklin moved to the deserts of the south-west he was determined to give up his career as a painter and start making monumental land art. However, when a second major stroke leaves him motionless and mute everything changes. Kept alive only by machines and the desperation of his fourth wife, the family dynamic changes when Alex’s second wife and only child make their way to the dusty world where Alex lies. What does alive mean? How much control should we have over death?
American powerhouse author Don DeLillo is known for his insight, wit and humour. He brings this complex story into sharp focus with the blackest of humour, incredible perception and a whip-like whit. Having received awards and nominations for over 40 prizes, among which are the Pulitzer, PEN/Faulkner and Man Booker International Prizes, DeLillo has been lauded around the world.
British comedian and actress Josie Lawrence (Comedy Store Players, Whose Line is it Anyway?, EastEnders) stars in the UK premiere alongside actor Joe McGann (The Upper Hand, Night and Day).

fab performances all round especially from leading actors joe McGann and the talented Josie Lawrence.A good play based around what seems like the morbid subject of death but surprisingly very funny.
Well acted and good dialogue but it did not hold my attention . The theme though possible to me was not very convincing .
First time at this charming theatre. Really enjoyed the play, held my attention throughout. The theatre is small and intimate which made you feel part of the performance on a personal level. The actors involved hit just the right note too for a difficult subject. A very pleasurable evenining for us all.
This was the first time my friend or I were visiting a theatre. Loved it.
I enjoyed it. I liked the mirror effect at the back of the stage and thought that all the actors were excellent. I hadn't seen or read the play before. I liked the way that the issues were presented through the characters in a non-didactic way. I felt that the relationships between the characters were clear.
Pity the venue subsequently advertised cheaper tickets! Also a shame I had to queue for so long. Never mind, the seat was a good one. The play was so-so, and not helped by the fact that I had to leave for some minutes because of a coughing fit. Staff were very helpful, and afterwards found me a seat at the back to watch the rest of the production - I didn't really miss much.
