Nica Burns and Max Weitzenhoffer is the owner and operator of the theatre group called Nimax Theatres Ltd. In 2005, Burns and Max announced their plans to acquire four London playhouses from Andrew Lloyd Webber. The venues in question were the Lyric Theatre, Duchess Theatre, Garrick Theatre, and Apollo Theatre, which they took control of in October. The Vaudeville Theatre is already owned by Max since 2001. In September 2005, he transferred it to the newly founded company. Nimax also bought the Palace Theatre from Webber in April 2012. Now, it owns and runs six of the city's prominent theatres, hosting a wide variety of shows and attracting millions of audiences every year.

Nica Burns and Max Weitzenhoffer

Nica Burns is the co-owner and Chief Executive of the company. She has over a hundred productions to her name. A multiple award winner, Nica held the post of Artistic Director at the Donmar Playhouse from 1983 to '89. She served as the Production Director of Really Useful Theatres and Stoll Moss from '93 to 2005. It was the same year Nimax Theatres was formed. In 2007, she became a Fellow of University College London. A year later, she became the President of the Society of London Theatre. Nica received the Private Business Woman of the Year award in 2013 and an OBE from the Queen. Her production of Long Day's Journey Into Night won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Revival and Sweet Bird Of Youth for Best Newcomer award in 2013. Max is the Chairman and co-owner of Nimax Theatres. He has worked on several famous shows in the UK and the US. He also co-produced many hits. The Will Rogers Follies and Dracula are two of his best shows, winning International Tony Awards. Together with Burns, he co-produced several hugely successful shows as well.
